“What have the three of you been doing inside the changing room?” David demanded. “We were talking. And Katherine just came and started to scold us. We ignored her and walked away and she threw herself at the lockers…”
“And why would she do that?”
“She…She…”
“Speechless?”
“She was angry that we ignored her…So she threw herself against the lockers to make us stop and to attract everyone’s attention…A ‘punishment’ to us for ignoring her! That’s what happened.” Josephine stammered.
“And you think I’ll believe such absurd stories?”
“No.”
“Very well. I want the both of you to apologise to her.”
“But…”
“No buts.” There was a note of finality in David’s voice.
“Yes.” Josephine and Madeline said simultaneously.

“Are you alright? Are you hurt?” Daren’s eyes were filled with concern.
“It hurts…My heart…It hurts…” Katherine hugged Daren tightly and wept.
“Can you tell me what happened?” Daren hugged her tightly and asked. Katherine shook her head. “Don’t worry… No matter what happens, I’ll be here to protect you. I promise” Daren whispered. Katherine nodded her head and flashed a weak smile at Daren.
“What are we going to do now? Apologise to her?” Madeline appeared worried. “Why look so worried? We just have to say sorry to her.” Josephine said nonchalantly. “But Daren… Will he still let us participate in his MV?”
“He has no choice. It will be too late to choose someone else to take over our places now.”
“You’re right. But do we really have to apologise to that slut?”
“Guess so. Just say sorry and get it over and done with.”
“You go first…” Madeline pushed Josephine forward.
“Why are you so scared anyway… It’s not like she’s a very big shot…”
“There’s still David who’s on her side.” Madeline reminded.
“LOL!” Josephine grinned.
“Ahem.” Josephine cleared her throat. “Katherine, I’ve something to say to you…”
“I’ve nothing to say to you.” Katherine replied coldly.
“Look, We’re just here because David made us okay.”
Katherine remained silent and continued to pack her bag.
“Sorry.”
“Excuse me. You’re blocking me.” Katherine stared at Josephine. Josephine and Madeline shifted to the side reluctantly. Katherine walked away without even looking back. Madeline was packing her own bag and didn’t notice Josephine staring at Katherine and Daren as they walked out of the studio.
Daren held Katherine’s hand tightly as they strolled back home. “A penny for your thoughts.” Daren said suddenly. Katherine woke up from her daze and looked at Daren. “Huh?” Daren stopped walking and looked at Katherine. “Please tell me whatever problems you have. It’s not healthy to keep everything bottled up inside you.” “I’m fine. Really.” Daren sighed and continued walking. “Daren?” Katherine ran and caught up with Daren. Daren remained silent and held Katherine’s hand again.

“Rise and shine!” Daren knocked on Katherine’s door. “Wakey wakey!” “Five more minutes…” Katherine grumbled and pulled the duvet over her head. Daren stopped knocking and entered her room. “C’mon, wake up…” Daren tried to pull off Katherine’s duvet but she held onto it tightly. “Five minutes…” Katherine’s voice came from under the duvet. “Nope.” Daren tugged harder at her duvet. “Wake up or I’ll just drag you out of your bed.” Daren said cheekily. Katherine pushed her duvet aside and climbed up from her pillows. The duvet fell onto the floor in a heap as she stood up. Satisfied, Daren went out of her room after reminding Katherine to come downstairs quickly.

Katherine looked out of the window and wondered where Daren is bringing her. Daren said that she’ll know when they reach the place. However, he has been driving for around one hour and they still haven’t reach the place which Daren is so mysterious about. “We’re here.” Daren announced as his car pulled into a empty space in the parking lot. Katherine and Daren got off the car. “Fun Pets Shoppe.” Katherine read aloud from the signboard.
The bell attached to the door tinkled as Daren pushed open the door. “Welcome!” A cherry voice boomed. “Jason!” Daren greeted when a man aged around 40 stood in front of them. “Ah! It’s Daren! I haven’t seen you in a long time! So you’ve brought your girlfriend here today?” Jason nodded at Katherine. Katherine smiled and nodded shyly.
“This is Katherine. You can call her Kat.” Daren made introductions. Jason shook hands with Katherine and went off to chat with Daren, leaving Katherine peering into the cages which was the animal’s home.
When Daren and Jason finally return, Katherine is already playing with one of the puppies through the gap in the cages. “Berry seems to like you a lot.” Jason said and walked over. “Would you take good care of her if I give her to you?” Katherine looked up immediately and her eyes shone. “Really? You’ll give her to me?” Jason smiled and nodded in reply. Daren smiled and stroked Berry. Berry’s eyes were as green as a beautiful emerald and they seem to be able to see right through people. Berry yelped playfully in Katherine’s arm as they walked out of the shop.

A mysterious figure walked into the changing room of David’s studio. The person slide a few pieces of gleaming shards into a pair of dancing shoes and walked out of the studio with a vicious smile hanging on her lips.
