You are crying
am i right?
wanting to cry tears with the wind
unspoken pain is increasing
initially thought
giving you wings would make your world complete
finally bear to let go
letting you fly

like a kite flying behind you
the broken strings still tangles the heart
walking behind you secretly
afraid of freedom

baby, when snow hides the sunlight
when the rainbow freezes
you must be brave
because there's still me
when the dor to heaven is locked
when the air pressure is hurting your shoulders
don't fret because there's still me
there's still me

you are crying
am i right?
with your back to the sunlight you're wiping tears
the heart breaking position
it shouldn't be you
how many hurt will make you strong
i've not forgotten all your dreams
when you fly
i wander

just like a shadow behind you
even the strongest wind
cannot break us apart
following you so closely
who wants freedom

dont believe that
you are the only one left on earth
turn around and look behind you
there's still me

there's still me
there's still me
warmth prepared will protect you
my shoulder awaits you
there's still me

there's still me
there's still me
warmth prepared will protect you
my hug awaits you
there's still me

Chapter 8
As soon as the bell which signified freedom rang, Joyce dashed out of her classroom. Wilson is already standing outside her classroom waiting for her. “Whoa, slow down! You might knock into somebody!” Wilson said. “Did I keep you waiting?” Joyce looked at Wilson. He seemed to have stood here a long time… “Nah, just got here.” Wilson waved his hand and dismissed the question with a grin. “Let’s grab something to eat. I’m famished.” Wilson rubbed his stomach and immediately, a loud growl was heard. Joyce’s eyes popped wide open. “How did you do that?” Joyce eyed Wilson’s stomach. “Just a bit of practice!” Wilson rubbed his stomach again and out came another growl. Joyce giggled and started walking out of the campus while laughing and joking with Wilson.

“What would you like to have Mr Growling Stomach?” Joyce turned swirled around and asked. “Hmm… Anything’s fine.” Wilson replied as he balanced Joyce’s bag on his shoulder. “How about burger?” Joyce pointed to a nearby push cart selling burgers. Wilson nodded his head while rubbing his stomach. GROWL… Passer bys turned to look at Wilson oddly. Joyce blushed and pulled Wilson towards the push cart. “Can you control that growling stomach of yours? It’s attracting unwanted attention you know.” Joyce whispered to Wilson. Wilson laughed and placed his hand on Joyce’s shoulder as they lined up for their burgers.

Wilson and Joyce window shopped as they ate their burgers. “Look at that beautiful dress!” Joyce hurriedly swallowed her burger and pointed to the dress inside a beautifully furnished shop. Wilson nodded. It’s a very beautiful dress indeed. I wish I can see my sister in that dress… “Wilson? Wilson?” Joyce waved her hand in front of Wilson’s face. Wilson finally woke up from his daydream. “Sorry.” Wilson said and pulled Joyce into the shop. “May I take a look at that dress?” Wilson asked as soon as the assistant came into view. “Of course.” The assistant held out the dress for Wilson to see. “Mister, this dress carries this season’s most popular design. You girlfriend has such fair skin. It matches her perfectly.” The assistant smiled and looked at Joyce. Joyce blushed and turned to look at Wilson. “I’ll have this dress…” Wilson said, oblivious to what to assistant has said earlier. Joyce tilted her head slightly and looked at Wilson. Something doesn’t seem right…

“Wilson.” Joyce stopped walking suddenly and asked.
“Hmm?”
“Who did you buy that dress for?”
Wilson remained quiet and stared at the bag he was carrying.
“Who is it for?” Joyce pressed again.
“My sister…” Wilson forced out a reply.
“Your sister?” Things don’t seem to be so simple…
Wilson grabbed Joyce’s hand suddenly and flagged a cab. “Where’re you bringing me?” Joyce asked, her voice shaky. Wilson doesn’t seem to be the usual him. What’s wrong? Wilson remained quiet, despite Joyce’s attempts to get an answer. The cab turned into a street and the engine was cut. Wilson thrust a few notes into the driver’s hand alighted, pulling Joyce behind him. What’s wrong with Wilson? Where are we going? What’s happening?

Wilson punched the password into the machine and it beeped loudly after processing the password. Wilson pulled opened the door to his apartment and led Joyce in. the door behind them let out another beep as it closed. Still holding on to Joyce’s hand, he walked towards one of the bedrooms. The door was slightly ajar and Joyce strained her eyes to see through the crack. Wilson pushed opened the door gently and Joyce gasped. The room was furnished into a girl’s room with heavy shades of pink and purple. The design on the walls were simple and intricate. Joyce wandered into the room and could not help looking around. One feels like a princess in this room…

“This room belongs to my sister…” Wilson whispered barely loud enough for Joyce to hear. “It’s so pretty! Where is your sister?” Joyce stood in front of Wilson and asked excitedly. “I don’t know…”
“Don’t know?” Joyce suddenly remembered how odd Wilson had been behaving earlier.
“I used to have a happy family…” Wilson suddenly broke down. For the first time, Joyce saw a grown man crying in front of her. “Wilson…” Joyce said, at a lost. She had never had such encounters before and she didn’t know what to do. “When I was young… About just ten years old… A fire broke out in the apartment next to us. The fire… It was very wild… We had managed to run out of our apartment. We had a few bruises but at least we were safe. My sister suddenly cried and said that she left her doll inside. It was her favourite… She dashed into the house despite my mothers screams. We could only look at the figure of my father running after a much smaller figure into the house.” Wilson broke down yet again and shivered. Joyce choked on her tears. Without thinking, she threw her arms around Wilson, hoping to provide him with some warmth and sense of security. Wilson hugged Joyce with all his might. “The fire…”

The fire gotten bigger and bigger. Neighbors were screaming and shouting. The scene was chaotic. Father and sister have been gone for too long. I tried to run back into our “house” which has been swallowed completely by the fire. If mother had not hold on to me with all her might, I really would’ve dashed into the fire without a second thought. My precious sister is inside there! She’s just seven… Somebody help her! When the fire fighters have arrived, almost the whole block of houses have already been drowned by the fire. Mother hugged me tightly and cried. And my mind told me that I would never see my father and sister again… They must be dead… The cruel fire has taken my father and sister away from me…

The fire made the headlines for all papers the next day. It was one of the biggest fires that had ever broken out. 5 has been found dead, 13 injured and many missing. “The numbers…They are still so clearly etched in my mind. My father and sister… They were under ‘missing’. Their corpse could not be found. We didn’t even have a chance to give them a proper burial…” Wilson hugged Joyce so tightly that her backbone might break. “Wilson… I didn’t know you’ve such a sad past… Cry, let you tears flow. Don’t cope it up inside you anymore…” Joyce said despite the pain she was feeling. “Hug me tight. I’m here for you. Hug me tight.” Obediently, Wilson hugged Joyce even tighter. Finally…After so many years of hurt and pain, he could finally let his feelings out…
