Chapter 27: Love BlossomsLying on the patch of pasture grass, Junsu felt the sudden need to tell Ri In the truth - his secret occupation. ‘Will Ri In leave me if I tell her? Is our relationship strong enough for this?’
“Why are you staring at me?” Ri In turned to face Junsu. “Got something to say?”
“Ri In, I… I will respect your decision after listening to what I have to say. But whatever it is, please remember that I love you.”
“What are you talking about? You’re not going to leave me are you?” Ri in sat up from her position on the grass.
“Of course I won’t! But you might want to after you hear this. Ri In, I have been hiding a secret from you. I’m actually an Ace Killer.”
Junsu closed his eyes, waiting for a slap or a curse from Ri In. It never came. Opening his eyes slowly, he found Ri In smiling at him. “Ri In, you…”
“Actually, I have something to confess too. I knew about it long ago. East Rising Gods.” Ri In laughed. Junsu’s shocked expression was priceless.
“And you… you didn’t leave me?” Junsu said carefully. “An Ace Killer murders people. I kill people, and earn money.”
“I know what a killer does, you don’t have to explain.” Ri In continued to smile at Junsu, making him feel confused. “I don’t care what you’ve been doing before, as long as you don’t risk your life killing people again. I only know that I’m in love with you, whether you’re an Ice Prince, an Ace Killer, or just an ordinary businessmen.” Ri In initiated a hug. Junsu shut his eyes tightly, feeling his love for Ri In growing by the second.
“Thank you. Thanks for choosing to believe in me. I will not disappoint you either.”
Jaejoong fingered the arrow in his hands. Yunho has cleaned off all traces of poison from the arrow upon his request. His mind is filled with the images of whom this arrow belongs to. “Why am I thinking of her?” Jaejoong shook his head and placed the arrow back onto his desk. Walking out of his study, he saw a servant rushing towards him. “A lady by the name of Genie has requested to meet Master.” Jaejoong’s eyes lit up at the mention of her name. Genie? What is she doing here?
Jaejoong felt his heart thumping hard against his ribcage as he made his way to the living room. The thought of seeing Genie again excites him. The thought of being near her again sends him into an ecstasy. Yet they’ve only met thrice before. Is this love?
Fidgeting on the couch, Genie felt uncertainty and nervousness. This has never happened to her before, the calm and composed Arrow Expert, the developer of the world’s deadliest poisons. What is this feeling? What does it mean? Seeing Jaejoong intimate with another girl would send her into fury. The inability to see him for a day would make her feel empty and hollow inside. What is this feeling?
Jaejoong let out a soft gasp as Genie came into sight. Her back was facing her, but he could see that she has made an effort to dress up. A beautiful bare back dress was on her, revealing her pale and smooth skin. On the table was a fruit basket. ‘Is she here to visit me? Why would she?’ Jaejoong shook his head slightly to clear off his thoughts while plastering his million dollar smile across his face. “Genie.”
I spun around upon hearing my name. ‘It sounds good when he called my name. I never thought my name could sound this beautiful… What am I thinking about?!’ forcing myself to get back on track, I proceeded to tell him the motive of my visit. “Can you please bring me to Hee Bon? I’m looking for her.” I fiddled with the strap of my handbag. Why am I dressed this way I do not know. Somehow, my fingers have chosen this dress and a matching handbag on its own this morning. He let out a shrill laughter, turning my attention back onto him. “What are you laughing at?!”
“You came only to ask me to bring you to Hee Bon? Why choose me? You can always look for Junsu or Yunho…” Jaejoong stroked his chin. “Or is it that… you are looking for an excuse to see me?” Genie turned red with fury as soon as she heard Jaejoong’s words. The avalanche of curses she was about to hurl at Jaejoong got stuck at her throat. He was right. Why did she come to him? Could it be… she just wanted to see him?
Junsu took over the steering wheel, in fear of losing his life due to Ri In’s superb driving skills. Ri In sulked in the passenger seat beside him, upset that she couldn’t show off how much her driving has improved. “Stop pouting, you look too cute to resist. I might just stop driving and kiss you in the middle of the road.” Junsu teased. It is becoming a habit to tease her ever so frequently. He just love to look at his wife’s blushing face. A part of his wife that belongs to him only.
Jaejoong stopped his car neatly in front of a building. “Hee Bon rented an apartment here. It’s good to see her finally working up.” Jaejoong said as he went over to the security man. “Is Miss Park in?” Jaejoong asked politely. The man nodded his head and allowed Jaejoong and Genie to pass. It had never dawned upon Genie that Hee Bon would have the courage to ever step out and rent an apartment to live on her own. Seems like Hee Bon is a lot more courageous than she thought. Of course, with such a brave sister like Hye Jin, her sister can’t differ too much…
Holding the lift door for her, Jaejoong smirked as he waited for Genie to step out. Genie looked at him oddly, having a bad feeling about his look. All of a sudden, Jaejoong snatched over the fruit basket in her hands and held onto her hand with his spare hand. Not leaving room for protests, he practically dragged her along the corridor towards Hee Bon’s apartment.
