Chapter 28: You Reap what You SowTaeYeon screamed as a few masked men pushed her onto a van. Trying desperately to escape, TaeYeon tried to punch one of the man. “Be good!” the man growled and tied her limbs securely with a rope. Another gagged her mouth and blindfolded her. TaeYeon felt her fear increasing as the van took off, towards a destination unknown to her..
Junsu shook Ri In gently by the shoulder. “Wake up, we’ve reached.” he planted a kiss on her cheek. Ri In rubbed her eyes as she woke up from her deep slumber. “It’s…” she recognized the place.
“The place where we first met each other. The place where we got married.”
Sitting opposite Hee Bon, Genie felt uncomfortable as Jaejoong placed his hand around her waist. Hee Bon looked at how Jaejoong was acting and chuckled, causing Genie to feel shy. “I didn’t know a girl who plays with poisonous arrows could be so shy as well.” Jaejoong purposely pinched her cheeks. Genie sent a death glare and shoved Jaejoong’s hand away. “Keep your hands to yourself unless you want me to poison you.”
“Why? Why did you make use of me in the first place?” TaeYeon heard someone walking towards her. “Why? I really did love you then…”
“Love? Ha! That wasn’t love. You gangsters know nothing about love. My love for Junsu is what true love is, stupid!” TaeYeon knew that voice all too well.
“Stupid? You claim your love was great. What is it now?” Boss walked over and forced TaeYeon to turn and face him. Pulling off the blindfold roughly, Boss’ face immediately came into view. “You will pay for causing me to harm my right hand man’s one and only sister.”
Scanning the place, Ri In noticed that there was only one bartender. “I booked the whole pub.” Junsu said as he led Ri In to the bar counter. “I just wanted to visit this place again with you. The place where our love started…”
“What is love? It’s nothing! You loved him so, and yet he loves another!” Boss slapped TaeYeon, sending blood trickling down the corner of her lips. “Not only so, you’ve indirectly caused the death of my right hand man. Do you know what I treasure most? My comrades!” Boss sent another stinging blow towards TaeYeon. Letting out a painful laughter, TaeYeon spat at the Boss. “Treasure, my foot!” she has successfully enraged the Boss. Boss signaled for the few behind him to tear TaeYeon apart, in the cruelest way possible. She will pay for what she has done.
Genie found liking towards this sister of Hye Jin’s. she was a lot more cheerful and outgoing, unlike Hye Jin who always put on a false front. “Do you guys take chili?” Jaejoong poked his head out of the kitchen. Genie shook her head and saw Jaejoong returning to the kitchen. Her fondness for Jaejoong has grown as well. How many Ace Killers would actually turn out to be able to cook?
Junsu sat Ri In on a chair and walked towards the piano on the stage. “This is for you, Ri In. Our song, Timeless.” Junsu started the melody that Ri In knew well by heart. Her creation, composed and written by her. She never thought that there will come a day where she can have a duet using this song. Eyes transfixed on Ri In, she could tell that Junsu is urging her to sing with him. More than willing, Ri in made her way onto the gigantic stage in the middle of the pub and sat beside Junsu, playing with him the song to their future.
Screaming and shouting, TaeYeon struggled to avoid the lecherous glares she was receiving. “This is just… a taste of your own medicine.” Boss smiled bitterly and walked out of the warehouse, leaving TaeYeon with the few men that brought her here. She felt the fabric on her tearing as the few advanced on her. There was nowhere she could run to, no one to help her. ‘You reap what you sow.’ a voice said in her head. ‘This is your just desserts.’ TaeYeon flung her arms around wildly, trying to shut the voice up. “Shut up! Stop talking! Shut your mouth up!”
“Can you stop drooling at my dishes? Close that gaping mouth of yours.” Jaejoong grinned at the reaction Genie was giving. Her eyes opened to their limits and her mouth gaping, Jaejoong could not help but think that she looked adorable. Genie reached her hand towards one of the dishes. “No.” Jaejoong slapped her hand away. “You’ve to wash your hands like a good girl before you can eat.” Jaejoong wagged his index finger in front of Genie.
Whimpers for help escaped from TaeYeon’s mouth as the guys carried out Boss’ orders. To rip her apart. What TaeYeon didn’t know was that the few man in front of her right now was the same few which Boss had led two years back to rape Hee Bon. This was perhaps Boss’ way of avenging Hye Jin and himself. The same few man, the same actions, will the outcome be the same as well?
Jaejoong looked at Genie in amaze. The amount of food she ate was easily the double of what he ate. He can’t imagine a girl eating so much and yet remain so slim. “Genie, what’s your secret to keeping yourself slim?” even Hee Bon could not help but ask. The sudden attention she was receiving caused Genie to turn pink slightly. Her eyes staring at the table, she did not notice Jaejoong reaching over the table towards her. Gently, he brushed his finger against the corner of her lip. “Rice.” he said simply and grinned at Genie.
Sitting in Jaejoong’s car once more, Genie felt her heart fluttering. Jaejoong has kindly offered her a ride back to their headquarters because he said it was dangerous for a lady to walk alone at night. Genie felt her cheeks burning as she recalled his words. “Stupid, I know how to use poisonous arrows.” Genie whispered. Jaejoong caught her faint voice and turned to smile at her cutely.
“But it’s better for a guy to send his girl home.”
