Play: from 1:00 onwards

Wedding bells ringing overhead as the morning rays glistened, Yoochun and Ye Seul exchanged their vows to cherish and love each other. All these while, the couple’s bridesmaid and best man exchanged glances at each other. ‘I can’t wait for it to be our turn…’ Junsu thought as he watched Yoochun slipped the wedding band onto Ye Seul’s finger.
‘On second thoughts, maybe an extravagant wedding won’t hurt…’ Ri In daydreamed as her friend kissed her groom on the cheek. the audience exploded into loud cheers and whistles as the newly wedded couple made their way down the aisle.

This was possibly the happiest moment for Ye Seul in her life. She had her loved one by her side, ready to embark upon their future together. Yoochun’s smile slightly wavered when his parents walked towards him. He had not invited them. He knew of their busy work schedule, and they probably forgotten all about their other son. Yoohwan jumped onto his brother and gave his a pat on his back. “You’re married!” he exclaimed. “You’d better work hard to give my sister-in-law a good life!”
Yoochun smiled weakly at the brother he has not seen in ages. His attention was transfixed on his parents.
“You did not even invite us to your wedding.” his mother seemed disappointed. “No matter how busy we are, we should still attend! How can this be a proper marriage if the parents are not here to give their well wishes?”
Yoochun felt tears rolling in his eyes. He was a strong man. It is not everyday that tears would actually visit him. Sniffing, he shook his father’s hand. “Thank you for coming…”
A few simple words, and yet the tension that have been ongoing between the parents and their eldest child faded away just so simply.

Ri In giggled as she followed closely behind Junsu. They were sneaking away. Sneaking away from the newly wedded Yooseul couple’s party. Junsu placed a finger on his lips as he checked for anyone who might’ve seen them. Certain that everyone is too engrossed in the happy event to notice them, Junsu pulled Ri In after him as he dashed across the garden. “Ri In!” he shouted as soon as they were out of earshot. “I love you! Let’s get married as soon as possible!”
“Junsu!” Ri In shouted in reply. “I want an extravagant wedding!”

Ri In kept tugging at the blindfolds that Junsu has put on her, curious at where they are going. “Don’t pull on the blindfolds! They’re going to come off!” Junsu pulled Ri In’s hand away from the cloth.
“Where are you driving me? I want to know! Lemme see!” Ri In whined. Junsu shook his head firmly, oblivious that Ri In can’t see him. He shifted his concentration back onto the road. The familiar road sign appeared within his sight. His lips curved up at the sign. “We’re reaching soon, Ri In. we’re reaching.”

“Tada!” Junsu whipped off the blindfold and stretched his hand out, gesturing for Ri In to walk before him. Ri In burst into laughter as soon as she saw a familiar sheep charging towards them. Junsu’s eyes widened in shock and balled his fists together. He had planned for it to be romantic - definitely no sheep! ‘I should’ve known better than to come here… That sheep must be my enemy from past life!’ Junsu regretted his decision immediately.
“You’re not going to punch him again, are you?! You can’t punch the sheep!” Ri In cried and lunged forward to stop her husband-to-be from committing yet another heinous ‘crime‘.

The owner of the farm frowned as soon as he saw Junsu. “I remember you! The one who punched my sheep in the face! What are YOU doing here?!” he yelled loudly.
“It’s rude to point at your visitors!” Junsu spat back. “I’m just here to discuss about my marriage issues with you!”
“What has your marriage got to do with me?! Get lost!” the farmer waved his fists angrily in Junsu’s direction.
“I just want to get married at this farm! Hey-” whatever Junsu had wanted so say got cut off as the farmer chased after him with a whip in his hand. Ri In could barely stand straight from her laughing. Crouched on the floor, Ri In had a hand on her tummy as she wiped tears from her eyes.

Junsu grumbled as he wiped the perspirations from his forehead. “I’d just wanted to hold our wedding there! Why did he have to chase me?!”
“I guess he just doesn’t like you.” Ri In giggled as she dabbed at his neck with a tissue. Junsu pursed his lips and crossed his arms, looking exactly like a child. Ri In couldn’t help but to poke and pull at his cheek, causing Junsu to protest even further. Junsu reached out a hand to pinch Ri In’s cheek in revenge, but Ri In dodged his attack. Taunting him to chase after her, Ri In spun around and ran for all she was worth.

“Why did you want me to abandon the car? It’s more comfortable for you to just sit in a car than to walk around in those stilettos.” Junsu pointed to Ri In’s feet. Ri In sighed. Did Junsu really know that little on romantic sweet nothings? At times like this, Ri In would feel really frustrated. Sometimes she would even think that it might’ve been better if she fell in love with Yoochun instead. That of course, is not possible, as Ye Seul is the only one who can have him in her control. “Cause I love you.” Ri In said simply. “Cause I need you to walk the rest of my life with me.”

Hands knitted together, Junsu and Ri In teased each other as they waited for the light to turn green. Suddenly, a ball rolled onto the streets with a little boy chasing after it. “Careful!” Junsu shouted a warning and jumped forward to pull the kid back. Ri In gasped at Junsu’s actions. Junsu dusted his clothes and turned towards the kid who made a face at him. Feeling confused at why the kid did so after he had risked his life saving the him, Junsu attempted to stop the boy from running away. At this very moment, a car swirled dangerously at full speed towards Ri In who was standing alone…

You need two to arrive at the stop of happiness
You said you wont be afraid as long as you’re with me
That white gown in the cabinet
When will you put it on for me?
At the stop of happiness there’s no prince charming riding a white horse
There’s only a wholehearted fool
Building a home for you at the destination
Regardless of rain or wind, it will not collapse
Love till our hair turn grey
You’re still my love

“Mummy, are we going to visit Auntie Ri In today? I miss her a lot!” Mina whined towards Ye Seul. Laughing, Yoochun picked up his precious daughter and kissed her on the cheek. “As soon as Uncle Junsu comes to fetch us.”
As if on cue, they heard the horning of a car. Mina got down on her feet quickly and ran towards Junsu who was walking towards her.
“Mina grew up really fast! You actually run now! It seemed like yesterday that your parents had to carry you around - I believe they still do now!” Junsu joked and gave Yoochun a friendly punch on his chest. Scratching her head, Mina looked at her father and back to her favourite Uncle Junsu. “I thought mummy always said it was bad to fight!”

Sure that Yoochun’s car was following his, Junsu started driving slowly. Flashing in his mind were the happy and sweet memories he shared with Li Yin and Ri In. lying beside him in the passenger seat was a bouquet of fake roses he had requested for the flower shop to custom make according to his requirements. Each and every rose carried the words ‘Clown Love’. It cost a bomb, but he felt that it was worth it. After all, wedding anniversaries only happen once a year.

‘Ri In! Mina is here with her flirtatious father and shopaholic mother!” Junsu shouted a singsong voice. Yoochun glared at Junsu for spoiling his perfect fatherly image in front of Mina. “Daddy, what’s flirtatious? Why did Uncle Junsu call you flirtatious?” Yoochun smacked his forehead. Junsu could feel the intense glare on his back, but he didn’t care. He was in a happy mood, and nothing would change that.

Junsu bent down and placed the roses before Ri In’s tomb. “Ri In, we’re here to see you.” he repeated his arrival in a near whisper this time. The funfair seemed to stop at once as they surrounded the tomb. Mina wobbled forward and placed her tiny hands on the tombstone. “Hello, Auntie Ri In. Mina is here to see you! Uncle Junsu called my daddy flirtatious and daddy won’t tell me what it means. Will you tell me in my dreams tonight?”
“Mina, Auntie Ri In is too busy to play with you in your dreams tonight. Mummy will accompany you and read you stories instead, okay?” Ye Seul bent down to cuddle her daughter. Tears flowed down her cheeks unknowingly as she thought of her best friend. Yoochun caught the tears with his thumb and shook his head. “Don’t cry. Let’s go for a short stroll and give the couple some time.”

After the noisy family left, Junsu sat down between the tombstone of his wife and his son. “Did you somehow know you’re going to leave me, that’s why you booked yourself a place here using the name ‘Li Yin‘?” Junsu joked as he caressed the picture of Ri In on the tombstone. Scenes of their rushed marriage whirled in his mind like a broken film.

“Jang Ri In, you can’t die yet. We’ve yet to get married…” Junsu cried bitterly as he clasped onto Ri In’s weak hand. Tons of machines surrounded her bed, each tube inserted into her body just so that she can live for another few precious seconds. Outside the ward, Chloe cried into her hands. She had planned the whole thing. From getting the two back together, and to the boy, to Ri In’s death - she planned it single-handedly. “This is the price you have to pay for hurting me… don’t blame me…”

Jang Ri In, would you take me, Kim Junsu, as your wedded husband and love and cherish me for as long as you live?” Junsu said in between his sobs. Ri In made an effort to try to nod her head. Junsu wiped the tears which flowed endlessly down his face. “I, Kim Junsu, am willing to take Jang Ri In as my wife. Regardless of whether she is dead or alive, I will care and love her forever.” Junsu choked on the term ‘dead’ and quickly slipped the ring he has prepared onto Ri In’s finger. Then, maneuvering Ri In’s hand, he helped her with putting on the wedding band onto his own hand. “We’re officially married, Jang Ri In…” Ri In smiled weakly at Junsu’s statement. She then started coughing roughly, and within a few seconds the machine beside her gave out a loud and long monotonous beep which declared her departure…

“I’m so lucky to have met you.” Junsu kissed the picture on the tomb tenderly. “You must take good care of our Inhwan over there. I wonder when I will see you again. In another seventy years maybe? I hope you’ll still want me then, being a old man I suppose would not look very attractive.” Junsu slowly stood up and started to wipe the tombstone with a tissue. He then started to clear up the offerings he has made to her the last time he came. He came every week basically. It was not just a routine. It was his only way of expressing the love he has for his wife. “It’s getting late… put on a sweater, Ri In. I’ve a feeling it’s going to rain tonight…”

Disappeared behind the other land,
I cannot grab your hand.
Despite the crimson red hue,
My love will always be true.
