“What was Jun Xiu thinking of when he drove into the sea?!” Master Jin slammed his fist against the wooden surface of his desk. His secretary jumped at the sudden outburst as he watched the poor telephone shatter when Master Jin flung it against the wall. Black-faced, Master Jin stood up as he cracked his head wondering how to break the news of Yu Bin’s death to her parents. He cannot imagine what will happen, but one thing is for sure - Jin Jun Xiu is going to get it from all of them for causing Yu Bin’s demise.

Decked in a full black outfit, Jun Xiu swaggered down the stairs, still drunk from his late night drinking session. Although his body seemed to be suffering side effects from drinking, his mind was crystal clear about everything. He purposely avoided the chatters coming from the dining room and headed out of the mansion. He needed to be alone today. He wants to mourn for the passing of his childhood playmate and cousin.

“Where is Jun Xiu?” Min Zhi wondered aloud as she ate her breakfast. Xuan Na who was sitting opposite her shrugged and You Tian shook his head. “Young master Jin isn’t in his room!” Wen Xuan exclaimed as she rushed down the stairs. “I can’t find him anywhere else!” Min Zhi immediately dropped her cutlery in shock. Jin Jun Xiu is missing? Did he went out? When did he leave the house? She is going to be in big trouble when her brother and Jun Xiu’s attendant return to find him missing. “We need to find him!”

Walking slowly towards the bridge where the accident took place, Jun Xiu’s vision blurred as the image of the day’s events replayed in his mind. Squeezing his eyes tightly shut, he tried to shake away the image of him driving off the bridge. He felt the air thinning, like how he was struggling in the waters previously. Gasping to take in large amounts of air, Jun Xiu grew giddy as he started losing balance. The waters suddenly seemed closer and closer… and he fell into the sea with a loud splash.

Leading the group, Min Zhi started panting heavily as she ran at top speed towards the beach. Spotting a tiny figure bent over from afar, Min Zhi pointed a finger excitedly as she thought they had found Jun Xiu. To her horror, she witnessed how he lost his balance and toppled over into the sea. Xuan Na gasped in astonishment and quickly covered her eyes in fear of another death whilst You Tian sprinted towards the bridge, leaving the job of calming Xuan Na to Wen Xuan. Removing his shirt as he ran, he threw it onto the ground before diving into the waters.

Panic-stricken, Jun Xiu kicked his legs and tried to surface but to no avail. Just then, he spotted a familiar figure before him, smiling so serenely. Jun Xiu stopped struggling and felt the tightness around his lungs loosening as Yu Bin’s image moved closer to him. She reached out a hand and held gently onto his. He could even feel the warmth she emitted. Suddenly, everything before him vanished and he found himself in the garden of the Jin Mansion he used to live in. Beside him was Yu Bin who is five years of age. Looking down at his hands, he discovered that he had chubby and small hands. Recognizing the dress Yu Bin was wearing, Jun Xiu recalled it as one of the scenes from his memory, for he remembered insulting her for wearing an ugly dress…

“That dress is so ugly! Why are you wearing it? Looks like you fell into mud!” Jun Xiu laughed while pointing at the brown-colored dress. Yu Bin’s face scrunched together into a frown as she crossed her arms in unhappiness. “I’m not going to be your friend anymore!” she huffed and turned her back on him. Jun Xiu continued laughing hard at her, smacking his thigh in glee. Yu Bin sat on the floor and started wailing, startling him. He stopped laughing immediately and went to look at her. “Why are you crying? Don’t cry, Yu Bin! You know I don’t mean it!” Jun Xiu’s face flushed red in anxiety. Yu Bin lowered her hands which covered her face and flashed a tiny smile. “You’re forgiven.” she pinched his arm before running away, cackling.

“You’re forgiven.” Jun Xiu’s vision shifted back to being in the sea with an image of Yu Bin. The image started blurring as she reached her hand towards him and pinched him on the arm. She proceeded to pull him into a hug before turning away. “Please forgive me for what I’ve done as well…” her voice was left lingering as her image faded away. Feeling his eyelids grow heavy, Jun Xiu moved his lips briefly to mouth his thoughts. “I don’t blame you.” he felt the pressure surrounding him become greater and greater as he lost conscious…

“Wake up! Jin Jun Xiu!” You Tian shouted as he shook the unconscious figure lying on the bridge. Min Zhi pounded on his chest. “Is his heart still beating? His heart will beat if I keep punching his chest right?” Wen Xuan hurriedly pulled her away to prevent her from possibly killing Jun Xiu. Brushing the hair sticking onto You Tian’s forehead away, Xuan Na is more concerned about him as compared to Jun Xiu who has yet to respond to them. If Jun Xiu is attempting suicide because of an accident, then he is too much of a weakling. As a man, he should face the situation bravely instead of trying to escape.

Coughing, Jun Xiu threw up the water he swallowed as he regained consciousness. Min Zhi muttered a prayer of thanks for letting him be alright and quickly assisted him in sitting up. “Are you okay?” Wen Xuan asked worriedly. Jun Xiu nodded weakly in reply and stood up unsteadily. Without saying anything, he dragged his heavy body in the direction of his mansion, leaving the group behind. Min Zhi sighed and turned towards them. “I guess he wants some time alone. Let’s just let him be. Just make sure he doesn’t try anything funny again.” You Tian gazed at Jun Xiu’s retreating back view and felt pity for him. He must yearn to be cared for a lot. He remembered how he used to yearn for someone to care for himself before he was adopted into Xuan Na’s family. Jin Jun Xiu must be a very lonely soul.
