Kim Junsu as Poo
Jang Ri In as Jaja

“Where are you going? I can’t watch this alone, the ghost might appear any minute!” Ri In’s friend hissed and pulled her back into her seat, gripping onto her tightly. Ri In smiled warmly and removed her friend’s fingers gently. “I’ll be back real soon. I just need the washroom.” Giving her a reassuring pat, Ri In made her way out of the theatre and headed for the ladies. Lying in wait under the cover of the shadows, Junsu pulled his cap lower as he waited impatiently for his target to emerge from the washroom. Spotting the elegant lady once again, he hastily went over and knocked her out before she could even notice his presence.

Ri In frowned with her eyebrows closely knitted together as she tried to shake off the splitting headache. Struggling to open her eyes, Ri In found herself handcuffed to a bed in a dirty and dimly lit room. Glancing around, her sight landed on a man who is staring at her. “Excuse me, sir. But may I ask where is this place and why am I here?” the man stood up but remained quiet. “I believe I have not met you before, sir. Why did you bring me here?” he took out a single key from the pocket of his rugged and torn denim jeans and worked on her handcuff. “Shut up.” He murmured and yanked her off the bed in one swift move. Biting onto her lips to prevent herself from making any noise, Ri In blinked back her tears from the stinging pain on her wrist and followed him out of the room obediently.

“So, how much do you know?” the plump and stubby-looking man paced around Ri In slowly while fingering the thick gold chain that hung around his neck.
“I don’t get what you mean, sir.” Ri In responded warily.
“How much do you know and who did you tell?” he stopped pacing and leaned in towards her menacingly.
“I have seen and heard enough to know that you killed my uncle, sir. Just because my uncle refused to represent your son who committed crimes of rape of and drug trafficking. Wrong-doers should be punished duly and having your son sent behind bars as punishment doesn’t give you the right to kill.” Ri In looked right back into his eyes without a hint of fear.
The man nodded his head and started clapping. “Very brave of you to try and lecture me. How dare you speak to me this way! What are you waiting for? Kill her!” he shouted at Junsu angrily. Junsu trudged over slowly, but shook his head.
“No.”

“She was speaking logic. Kill the scumbags, but leave the innocent alone.” Junsu stood beside Ri In with his arms crossed.
“Fine. Then I’d kill her myself!” the man withdrew a gun, stepped back and fired it in Ri In’s direction. However, Junsu placed himself in between them just as the bullet was fired. Taking the shot for her, Junsu gritted his teeth and pulled out his guns. He shot as many people as he could while shielding Ri In from the gunshots by the other subordinates. Trembling in fear, Ri In covered her ears and closed her eyes tightly to evade the bloodshed occurring right before her. Suddenly, she felt her body being pulled up. “What are you waiting for? Run!” Junsu shouted as he pulled her away from the place.

Panting heavily, Junsu released her hand as soon as he felt that they were at a safe distance. “Go!” he shouted at her. Ri In shook her head firmly and pointed to his bleeding arm. “You’re injured, sir! I can’t leave you here!”
“Get the hell away from this place now! They will catch up anytime!” Junsu hollered again and pushed her away with his uninjured arm. Losing his balance, Junsu’s knees gave way and he collapsed on the ground. Eyes widening, Ri In hurriedly tore the rim of her skirt and wrapped it around his wound that does not seem to cease its bleeding. “Sir, can you walk? We have to leave this place. Together.” Supporting him, Ri In helped him slowly to the main road and flagged a cab.

“Where to, sir and madam?” the driver tried not to look at the bleeding man, knowing better than to get him involved by asking too much. Ri In paused for a moment, wondering where else they could go to. Definitely not the hospital where they can be tracked down easily by the police or by the stubby man. Her home is no longer safe and she would place her friends in danger if she went to them. “Just drive. I’ll give directions,” Junsu mumbled with his eyebrows closely knitted. “To my hideout.”

Placing Junsu on the dirty and torn mattress which Ri In assumes should be his bed; she glanced around the place quickly. Sparsely furnished with just a bed, a rocky table, and what should be his bathroom, there was no kitchen or living room in this ‘house’. Rummaging around, Ri In tried for a first aid box but settled for liqueur and a knife when she realised that it would be quite impossible for him to own a first aid box in the first place. Sterilizing the knife over fire, she glanced briefly at Junsu and inhaled deeply to calm herself down. “I know this will hurt, sir. Please bear with it.” Cleansing the wound with the liqueur she found, she started poking into the wound with the knife while holding her breath. Trying her best to minimize the pain and getting the bullet out, huge droplets of perspirations dotted Ri In’s forehead. Each time Junsu winced in pain, Ri In felt her heart thump harder against her ribcage. Biting her lip hard and putting in her outmost concentration, she finally managed to retrieve the bullet. Smiling happily and allowing her breathing to return to its normal pace, she glanced at Junsu only to find him unconscious…

Hanging up the clothes which she had hand washed, Ri In wiped her hands dry on her skirt and went over to check on Junsu’s injury. Gently removing the dressing, she threw it away and bandaged the wound with a new strip of cloth off her skirt. Taking another piece of cloth, she dampened it and dabbed it tenderly on his forehead. “You’ll be okay, sir… I know you will be…” placing the cloth aside, she started cleaning the place.

Murmuring a curse, Junsu forced his eyes open and looked down at his arm where he felt the scorching pain. Throwing his head back on the bed, he closed his eyes briefly and opened them again to look around the house for Ri In. All he saw was hanging laundry, mopped floor and cleaned table, but no trace of Ri In. ‘She must’ve left…’ he assumed when Ri In’s voice rang cheerily. “I hope you’re feeling better, sir!” Ri In walked into the house carrying two large paper bags containing her shopping. Junsu remains momentarily stunned before finding his voice again. “Are you insane or stupid?! Don’t you know the danger? You could have been caught!” he yelled so loudly that the veins in his neck surfaced and his wound stung. Hissing, he calmed himself down and lied back down on the bed but maintained his intense glare. “But if I don’t go out we would starve to death because there’s no food here. I also need a new skirt…” Ri In looked at the remains of her torn skirt after using what she could as his dressing. Junsu felt the tips of his ears burn and quickly turned away from her to hide his red ears.

“I wasn’t able to cook for you, but I hope the food I brought was just as good, sir.” Ri In smiled warmly at him as she took out the antiseptic and bandages that she had brought at a pharmacy. Junsu was about to reply that he is thankful as long as there’s food when he realised that she was still here – in danger of being captured again. And if she were to be captured again, he has no confidence that he would still be able to save her given his injury. “Leave.” Junsu spat out in an unfriendly tone.
“But if I leave, there would be no one to take care of you, sir. I can’t just leave you here alone. Who would clean the place and change your dressing?” Junsu kept mum, knowing that he indeed could not take care of himself now. “What’s your name, sir? I’m Ri In.” she offered her name, still maintaining her smile kindly.
“Will you keep quiet after I tell you my name?”
“I don’t think you want to be called ‘sir’ all the time instead of your name.” Ri In responded.
“Junsu.”
