Chapter 7: Burning Questions

Glancing at Yunho’s car, Jaejoong deduced that he must be at home. Why did he rush off in such a hurry though? So much so that he did not even notice Jaejoong’s existence when he dashed past him. In any case, he must be home with Sohee right now. What are they doing in the house? Haven’t Yunho been avoiding her? Why did he suddenly want to see her? Are they possibly going to get divorced? The more Jaejoong thought about it, the more apprehensive he felt.

“Sohee-ah, how long have you been married with Yunho? How long have you guys been dating secretly?” Mrs. Jung grinned as she wiped dry the plates Sohee washed.
“We’re married for nearly two months now. We knew each other for a long time.”
“A long time?” Mrs. Jung paused briefly. ‘A long time probably referring to after Yunho moved out to stay alone? But didn’t he move out because we could not accept that he is seeing Jaejoong? Unless Yunho thought it through after living alone and decided to date Sohee?’ Glancing at Sohee who remained focused on washing, Mrs. Jung could not help but wonder how did Yunho meet her and how did she manage to change Yunho.

“Are you sure you don’t want to stay over? It’s pretty late.” Yunho questioned for the nth time. Mrs. Jung shook her head and grinned. “You’re are still newly-wedded, I understand you need some time alone with Sohee at night. I will be anticipating my grandchildren!” Yunho gaped at his mother’s words whilst Sohee blushed. “Go in quickly, no need to send us off!”
“Please drive carefully!” Sohee reminded Mr. Jung as they got on the car. Watching Yunho and Sohee wave until the car went out of sight, Jaejoong let out a sigh of relief seeing that Yunho’s parents were the reason why he was flustered. He was about to drive off when he saw the both of them walking away from the house instead of going in. Grabbing his phone and wallet, Jaejoong hastily stuffed them into his pocket and hopped out of his car.

“That was a nice façade you had on in front of my parents. So perfect that nobody could tell your scheming plan.” Yunho’s words came biting.
“Façade? I actually enjoyed being around your parents. They’re so fun to be with. Although my adoptive parents do treat me really well, they are way too busy with work. I always cook and eat my meals alone. Even after marriage it’s still like this…” Sohee smiled bitterly, causing a pang of guilt to shoot through Yunho.
“In any case, thanks for being so cooperative today and not causing any trouble.” Yunho pushed away the rising guilt. “If only you’re so cooperative as well about the divorce.”

“Is Jaejoong really worth your love? So dear to you that you’re willing to turn gay for him? Have you thought of my feelings? Have you thought of your parents? What about the eyes of everyone else? Can you ignore everyone and live with Jaejoong happily?” Sohee sat on the swing and pushed herself off gently. Hiding behind the bushes nearby, Jaejoong held back his breathing, curious and anxious about the answer. Settling himself on the swing next to Sohee, Yunho could not give her a reply. He probably does not care much about Sohee’s stance on this, but his parents gave birth to him. He has to answer them for his actions and decisions. And would the world accept ‘yunjae’ if it was indeed real? Apart from the yunjae-supportive Cassiopeians, can everyone agree upon their relationship or will they eye them differently? What if Jaejoong is hurt in this process?

Deep in his thoughts, Yunho did not notice when Sohee stopped swinging and remained still. When he finally shivered from the chilly night breeze and snapped out of his trance, he realised that Sohee had fallen asleep with her arms wrapped around her body tightly. Initially wanting to wake her up, he recalled how busy she had been whipping up dinner and decided against it. Gently picking her off the swing, he carried her securely as he returned in the direction of their house. Crouched in a tiny ball for warmth, the stinging pain from the cold could not beat the heartache Jaejoong felt when Yunho failed to give an answer to Sohee’s questions. Not only so, he had to witness Yunho’s kindness towards Sohee. Struggling to straighten himself, Jaejoong stared long and hard at Yunho’s retreating figure.

Tucking Sohee under the warmth of the blanket, Yunho dimmed the lights before heading to the kitchen to brew a cup of warm tea. Watching the steam slowly rise up, he thought about Sohee’s questions again. “Will I really have a future with Jaejoong? Can I really promise something towards Jaejoong?” Yunho took his mobile phone and browsed through the pictures he had taken with Jaejoong. The image of Sohee’s necklace then flashed through his mind. Groaning in pain, he pushed his phone away and clutched at his hair. This time, the headache was worse than the previous time. Resting his head on the table top, Yunho took deep breathes and tried to calm himself down.

“I need an answer. I need it right now.” Jaejoong’s fists remained tightly balled as he stood before Yunho’s door. As he slowly raised his finger to press the doorbell, he realised that he was trembling. Was it due to the cold, or did it stem out of fear? What if Yunho’s response disappointed him? Slowly pulling back his finger, Jaejoong stared hard at the door, wishing he could see through it and know what is happening between Yunho and Yoo Sohee right now. Chuckling bitterly at himself, he shook his head and firmly pressed the doorbell. “Love really makes one turn into a coward. But if I want to know, I need to overcome all fears.”

Yunho practically dragged himself over to answer the door. As soon as he saw Jaejoong, a smile lit up on his face immediately. Yunho pulled him into an embrace before Jaejoong could say anything. “Just five minutes. I just need to recharge with your strength for five minutes.” Yunho muttered softly. Jaejoong’s determined gaze softened. ‘Yunho seemed to be really tired out. Maybe having his parents over earlier had drained him of all his energy.’ Although Jaejoong himself felt mentally drained, he remained still and supported Yunho, hoping to provide whatever strength possible.

After a long while, Yunho finally released Jaejoong and brought him over to the living room. “I just made some freshly brewed tea. It’s freezing cold outside, so this tea would definitely warm you up!” Yunho smiled gently as he poured Jaejoong a cup. Nodding, Jaejoong took a sip. The tea left him feeling refreshed. He eyed as Yunho sipped his tea, closing his eyes and relaxing. “Yunho-ah,” Jaejoong started cautiously. “What will you do if the whole world opposes to us? What if they can’t accept YunJae being real? I know we have quite a handful of YunJae fans, but what about those that can’t accept us?” Yunho’s eyes fluttered open when he heard Jaejoong’s question. The same questions that he couldn’t answer Sohee.

A/N
Here's finally a update for Bad Woman! When i opened up this file I saw this chapter half completed, so I quickly completed it and posted it up. I'm now working on the next chapter! And honestly speaking, I think Chapter 10 might very possibly be te last chapter (if i can manage it to chapter 10 LOL). There really isn't a lot left to be told in this story. I guess you can actually say this fanfic is short and sweet in a sense? There aren't really a lot of action and twists in Bad Woman like what I usually plan for in my fanfics.
Please drop me a comment if you enjoyed this chapter! :D
